    Why Team Speak?
The single most critical aspect of online racing is the ability to communicate with the other drivers while on and off the track. Why would you need to communicate you ask?

GT 5 Prolouge currently does not support VOIP or private rooms. As a result it can be difficult to find a race with skilled responsible drivers. A work around this is using VOIP communications and the game clock to coordinate start times. By having a group of drivers all start at the same instant using the game clock we are able to get most if not all participating drivers into a single room. This keeps the number of undesirable drivers to a minimum, thus improving our chances of getting a good clean race with drivers we know and respect.

    How do you get started.
If you are familiar with TS you can find the server by manually changing the IP address at the top of the sign-in box to:
Password required, please make a request for the password here in this thread. Someone will send it to you as soon as possible.

    Setup instructions

    TeamSpeak download >>> http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads

Run client install, enter the address and port above and your user name, no password is required.

    Terms of Service.

VOIP servers are provided free of charge courtesy of the TPRA and are made available to anyone who
wishes to use them providing they adhere to the following guidelines:

The Lobby is only an entry point and may not have chat enabled, choose whether to enter a race
room or chat room from there
The Lounge channel is structured as a meeting place for general discussions, and a place where you
can get together with your friends and discuss general topics.

Use the room appropriate to what you are doing, if chatting you should not be in a race room.
When racing in an event go to the room for your class group.
You can hang out in the main chat room while racing, but dont expect quiet because your in a tight
    race or tough corner.
While in a race designated room keep chat to a minimum and relevant to the race.
Foul language is not permitted, most members have children and some still are, you never know who is
All drivers using voice communications are at no time permitted to be abusive to another driver.
Failure to adhere to this guideline can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the server.
This includes, but is not limited to, name calling, yelling, or any other use of derogatory terms
towards another member whether they are present or not.
As well, discussions of any kind that could be offensive, lead to heated discussion, or that may be
in any way an annoyance to others in the room are not permitted.
Topics such as religion, politics and cultural differences are not permitted.

Being disruptive is not permitted and can result in being warned and/or banned either temporarily or
    permanently from using the service.

Spamming the chat, or posting inappropriate or offensive links can also result in a warning, which
could will lead to either a temporary or permanent ban.

Broadcasting or recording is strictly prohibited and will result in being banned from the server.

    Having fun is mandatory!!
If you have any questions, concerns or complaints you can text message any of the server admins
denoted with a silver shield with an "S" beside thier name, or send a message through the
    http://WWW.TunersPit.com comment box or forum.

Hi, I realize that I made a mistake thinking I was using teamspeak. I have a headset that I use for the PS3, but it's not teamspeak. I saw in the original post that you guys set this up for Prologue. Is it still needed for GT5 gameplay? And if so, does it run in the game or do you need a pc running next to you? I guess I'm really not sure what to do here.

Also, I assume friend requesting someone here does not do it in the game, so would I do a search in the game? If so, I also assume that the names I search would be case sensitive. Sorry for the ignorance here, Wallhugger

Yes we use TS3 still, not the in-game voice chat. TS is not mandatory to race with us. It runs on PC or Mac, not your PS3.

Most of the forum names are our PSN IDs (they are if someone has raced with us in GT5), also PSN IDs are not case sensitive but at least a couple have a capital I instead of a lowercase L due to correct spelling of their name of choice being taken. You use the 'Add a friend' on your XMB to add people, the in-game friendslist works off the PSN one. Many of us admins and staffers are maxed (PSN has a 100-friend limit), but we will add you if we are setting up a text chat for a division you're in if we don't have you by that time.

32/64 depends on your computer. In Windows, I believe you see if you're running 32 or 64 by right clicking on "My Computer" and selecting properties. If I had to guess though, you're probably running 32 bit unless your computer is new in the last year or so.

You want to download the client.

This should work. It will list under the "System" heading if you're running 64 bit. If you don't see 64 anywhere on that screen, then 32 bit is a very safe assumption.

Ok that was painless, I even logged on briefly and saw my name in the lobby.
All I need now is to get a headset.....I wonder if my old PS3 USB headset will work? :sCo_chinscratch:
Anyway, thanks again for the help Rack.

Your USB headset should work fine. Just a matter of setting it up in your PC. Good luck. Look forward to you joining us on TS.

My TS3 is sort of half working at the moment. The TSViewer isn't working. Error 2568.

I can manually connect to the TPRA Server, but even after that, TSViewer does not give me "permission" to view it.

    Can't sign in on TS

The "Connect" button is greyed out and un-clickable...

Worked last night and the server address is correct.

    No there isn't.

And clacksman - after the update is when it stopped working.

If I use the IP, it can't connect to the server and if I put a colon in, the Connect button greys out.

Dunno then, I updated mine after you posted your question and it worked normally after the update was complete.

If I use the IP address as a server name, it won't connect.

If I use the ts52 name, it also won't connect and doesn't ask for a port number...
