In Saving a Ghost Replay we explained how to save a ghost replay to your PS3 for use as a training tool, sharing with friends or uploading as part of an event requirement. Here we will show you how to package that file up and send it off for others to view. Step 1 -You will need to get that replay out of your PS3 and into a PC so you can upload it. This can be acomplished using a number of different storage devices. The PS3 accepts USB external, thumb and flash drives, and various memory cards depending on which model you have but the storage device must be formatted as FAT32. As long as the device can be read by both the PS3 and your PC you are ready to save a replay. I will be using a SD storage device and it will show up as such in the screen captures. On your computer the file names and locations may vary. To make things as simple as possible remove all content from your storage device before proceeding or create a location to store the file that will be easy to find later. Make sure you have quit GT5P and navigate to the Save Data Utility on your XMB. Step 2 -Press "X" to open the save data utility folder and ind the reply on that list, it should be second from top and first ghost replay (top item will be your game save if you did just save it), press triangle. Once you have located the replay press the triangle button and select copy. When your replay has finished copying to your storage device you can press the circle button 2 times to return to the XMB. Step 3 -Disconnect/remove the storage device from your PS3 and connect/insert it to/into your PC. Many systems will automatically open the device in that case select the "Open to view files" option. If the the storage device does not open automatically you will need to open it manually. To locate your file manually see "Step 4". Step 4 -To locate the file once you have inserted or connected your storage device on a windows operating system go to the start menu and select "My Computer" from the list of options. The storage device will be one of the drives listed as "Removable storage". Double clicking on the drive will open it and you will be able to view the files. Step 5 -The file you saved is titled "PS3" and inside that is a folder titled "SAVEDATA". Inside the SAVEDATA folder is a folder with a title made up of letters and numbers resembling this, BCUS98158-RPLY2-B-C04A4704001. Right click on this folder and select "Send To" sub category "Compressed (zipped) Folder". Step 6 -Right Click on your newly created file and select "Cut", now you can "Paste" the file anywhere you want I suggest your desktop or using the back button two times to return to the default view window for your drive. You now have a file that is ready for uploading and or sharing. Step 7 -Now you can send your file to your friends in an e mail or upload your file using a web form like the TPRA qualifying form. To use the TPRA qualifying form fill in all of the blanks and use the browse button to locate the file you compressed and select it for uploading. Once the form is filled in and the file is selected for upload pressing the submit button will take you to a captcha box. Step 8 -Enter the letters you see in the window into the box at the bottom and click on the submit button. Step 9 -The last window you will see confirms that your qualifying time has been sent. Simply close this window or use the back button to return to the qualifying form. Your submittal will be recieved by the event staff and processed accordingly.
