Launch trailer:

There's more competition in the racing genre as critically acclaimed PC simulator Assetto Corsa races onto PS4 and Xbox One next year! :sHa_thumb2:

This game is a full-on simulator like Project CARS. Over 20 tracks and over 100 cars will feature in the game. The game is particularly noteworthy for it's impressive physics and highly detailed, laser-scanned tracks.

Expect more details at E3 in a couple of weeks!

This means 2016 could potentially feature four out-and-out racing simulators on consoles: Project CARS, Assetto Corsa, Forza 7 and possibly GT7.

Re: Assetto Corsa

Driving Physics Remain Top Priority for Assetto Corsa on PS4, Xbox One.

Following hot in the heels of the news that Assetto Corsa will be coming to the PS4 and XBox One in 2016, Eurogamer Italy have interviewed Marco Massarutto from Kunos Simulazioni, the studio behind the highly praised PC sim.

-- Sony provided Kunos with a PS4 development kit in late 2013, asking them to ‘play a little’.
-- Kunos have established an internal team dedicated to the PS4 and XBox versions, who will work alongside the PC team.
-- Console versions will feature the same content as found on the PC, with a target of 100 cars for launch.
-- The currently rather bare career mode is being worked on for console launch, with Kunos already speaking to players about this area.
-- Physics will be given first priority in the console versions, with Marco stating that “Assetto Corsa console already has the same feelings, dynamism and force feedback of the PC version”.
-- Thrustmaster, Fanatec and Logitech wheels and pedals that are compatible with the PS4 and XBox 1 will be supported, with hints that more may be yet to come.

Exciting stuff ahead in the racing sim world!! :sHa_thumb2:

The next big racing sim not called Gran Turismo is coming this April...

Assetto Corsa Races Onto PS4 and Xbox One 22nd April

Console players eager to drive one of PC’s most praised driving simulators won’t have to wait much longer, with developer Kunos unveiling a 22nd April release date. Assetto Corsa will bring an iconic laser-scanned track roster and over 90 cars to the next-generation racing table, alongside an advanced physics engine which will push drivers to their limit with a level of simulation not matched by many in the racing genre.

Boasting an extensive career mode with support for events in disciplines that include Drag and Drift racing, Kunos’ prized racer will also allow players to take part in full race weekends complete with Practice, Qualifying and Races both offline and online.

Furthermore, those expecting a lesser experience than what is available on PC should note that these versions of the title are not going to be ‘watered down’. Kunos have mentioned that the choice of publisher was made on the basis they could maintain what makes AC so special for a wider audience.

The game is a full racing sim like Project CARS. Some have even commented that it's even closer to real life than Project CARS - analogous to rfactor.

Liked what he said about what it means to have realistic physics. Too often folks equate that with hard to drive....I remember how I used to argue with folks on TS that a real 370 Z could not possibly drive like the non-tuned GT Academy car drove at Indy, glad to see this guy gets it.

Re: Assetto Corsa

Most PC players agree that the top 3 true-to-life simulators on the market that are as close to the real thing as possible are iRacing, rfactor and Assetto Corsa. And we're getting one of those on PS4 in April! Exciting times! :sHa_okay:

I have this game. The physics are great, even better than PC. If you are into hot lapping you will LOVE this game. Career mode is meh, AI is much better in PC and the game has far less content than PC too. I haven't tried online racing though I here it's good.
I think anyone here will want to try this game out. I have it on steam and most sim racers there seem to favor it over PC.

They do get it phill. I drive an FRS in real life and they have it in the game and the way you can get the back end out on those cars is done really well in this game.
It's like that with all the cars. Like I said in my previous post, the physics are outstanding.

Re: Assetto Corsa

Career mode is going to be revamped for the console release, along with new menus to accommodate controllers rather than a mouse. DLC seems to be being released all the time for the PC version and all of that DLC will be included in the console release, so that's nice to hear. I heard that about the AI though. Overly aggressive, even on the "Easy" difficultly level. It'll be good for P CARS to have some competition! :sHa_okay:

Re: Assetto Corsa

Porsche is coming to Assetto Corsa!

This means Assetto Corsa will become the only racing game apart from Forza Motorsport 6 that includes vehicles from the famous German marque. Need for Speed also includes Porsche but it's really only an arcade game in terms of physics.

Can't wait for this sim! Played it a bit on the PC and this thing feel like the most realistic simulation I've played. If they retain the physics (which they say they will) when it comes to PS4 (1080p, 60fps) and Xbox One (900p, 60fps) at the end of August, then this will be the new daddy of console race sims in terms of physics.

Can't wait! :sHa_clap:

So I just wanted to ask how many of you are planning on buying Assetto Corsa and would like to race in events hosted here. If I see that there's enough interest I'll create 2 new forums under Current Games.

Thanks

I am.

What about the psn ppl? I recognized many of them as former tpra attendee's. Right now we're lacking numbers.
Only thing im worried about is theres a big spread in speed difference among every1.

Right here. Mr. "I bang on about AC all the time".

Just asked the question over at the PSN forums, Dark. We'll see what the response is! :sHa_thumb2:

7 people so far (not including myself) from the PSN forums have confirmed to me they will be playing the game. Hopefully that number grows! :sHa_thumb2:

I'll be buying it for sure. The developers are all about the physics, tracks and cars being as accurate as possible. That's exactly what I want prioritized in a "Sim".
